The Ordering, Shipping and Billing Process
Contact your local orthotist. If you do not currently use an orthotist, Midwest Orthotic & Technology Center can help you find a local orthotist through our network of providers. If your orthotist is unfamiliar with SureStep, ask them to contact our office and we will send them all the necessary information so they can get started.

The ordering process for the SureStep system is really quite simple. If you follow the steps below, you should have no problems at all.

  1. The SureStep system is reimbursable through most any insurance policy. Unless the insurance policy specifically excludes orthotic and prosthetic devices, it should cover without a problem.
  2. We suggest that the SureStep orthoses be billed as a dynamic supra-malleolar orthosis molded to the model of the patient under the HCPCS code 1907 x 1 and L2275 x 2.
  3. Check to see if the insurance company that will be billed requires a prior authorization of any kind. (If you are having a third party take care of billing for you, they will handle this part.)
  4. Once all necessary paperwork is ready to go, simply follow the measuring instructions on the video, fill out the measurement form completely and fax it to our office toll free at 1-866-700-7837. Click here if you need to order our measuring kit.
  5. Once we receive your order, we will immediately set up an account for you.
  6. Your SureStep orthoses will normally be shipped within one or two business days.
  7. Once your SureStep orthoses ship out you will be invoiced.
